January 13, 2006 An anticipated tradition dating back to the summer of 2000, this year's Star Wars Weekends at Disney-MGM Studios in Florida will take place on four consecutive weekends (Friday - Sunday) beginning May 19, 2006 and running through June 11, 2006. Star Wars fans of all ages will converge on the park to celebrate with Star Wars celebrities, costumed characters, activities, exclusive merchandise and the famous Star Tours thrill ride. April 11, 2006 Star Wars Weekends are almost here, and starting next month fans get to meet an impressive lineup of special guests attending four weekends of Star Wars fun at the Disney-MGM Studios in Florida. From May 19 to June 11, 2006, fans of all ages will converge to celebrate the heroes, villains, creatures and droids of the saga. In addition to Star Wars costumed characters, fun activities, and the Star Tours theme park ride, celebrity guests will be in attendance for meet-and-greet sessions, star conversations, and a classic Hollywood-style motorcade. Here's a sneak peek at the celebrity guests which include Star Wars cast and crew. However, please check back here for future updates to the guest list as it may be subject to change. Warwick Davis will be the first ever celebrity host for all four Star Wars Weekends. Davis was only 11 years old when he played the Ewok hero Wicket in Return of the Jedi. In Episode I, he played multiple roles, including that of Anakin's young friend Wald. May 19, 20 & 21 -- Rick McCallum & Peter Mayhew As a rare treat for fans, Producer Rick McCallum will be attending Star Wars Weekends to chat about his work behind the scenes on the prequels. A fan favorite from the classic trilogy, Peter Mayhew is no stranger to Star Wars Weekends. The towering Peter Mayhew played the loyal Wookiee Chewbacca in the original trilogy, and revisited the role in Revenge of the Sith. May 26, 27 & 28 -- Jake Lloyd & Matthew Wood Anakin Skywalker from Episode I will be making a return to Star Wars Weekends as Jake Lloyd joins the fun. Also there that weekend will be Episode III's Supervising Sound Editor Matthew Wood, the voice of the evil General Grievous. June 2, 3 & 4 -- Jay Laga'aia and Orli Shoshan Fans know Jay Laga'aia as the protective security officer Captain Typho in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, while Orli Shoshan played the Jedi Master Shaak Ti in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. June 9, 10 & 11 -- Jeremy Bulloch & Temuera Morrison Jeremy Bulloch is known best for his role as the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He also made a brief cameo as Captain Colton in Revenge of the Sith. Temuera Morrison played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones, and consequently his image was replicated over and over as the basis for the clone army. April 19, 2006 As reported last week, Disney's Star Wars Weekends is ramping up for the 2006 summer season at the Disney-MGM Studios in Florida, bringing with it a great new assortment of exclusives for Star Wars and/or Disney collectors. characters, fun activities and the Star Tours theme park ride, celebrity
guests will be in attendance for meet-and-greet sessions, star
conversations, and classic Hollywood-style motorcades. Each Star Wars
Weekend features actor and fan-favorite Warwick Davis as your celebrity
host. For several years now, fans have known to check out
starwars.com for a taste of the Star Wars Weekends excitement, but this
year brings something new and special. Disney's David Brady is providing
Star Wars listeners with audio interviews with the celebrity guests, so
you can hear as well as see what the excitement is all about. This first weekend brings Star Wars producer Rick McCallum and the man who played Chewbacca, Peter Mayhew, to Disney-MGM Studios. Also on hand was actor and singer Joey Fatone, who is a die-hard Star Wars fan. June 08, 2006 Star Wars producer Rick McCallum had such a great
time at his first ever Star Wars Weekend at Disney-MGM Studios last month
that he's come back for more! The first Star Wars Weekend this year, held
on May 19-21, featured Rick as one of the celebrity guests (see our
coverage here). McCallum had a blast meeting with fans, answering
questions, and participating in the classic Hollywood-style motorcade that
he came back to Florida to be added to the fourth and final Disney Weekend
this year. For the past three weeks, the Disney-MGM Studios has
transformed into a galaxy, far, far away as Star Wars Weekends celebrates
the entire space fantasy saga. Fans of all ages and Star Wars characters

Morrison (Jango Fett) and now, Rick McCallum. June 12, 2006 Another run of exciting Star Wars Weekends has
concluded, as the fourth of four consecutive weekends at Disney-MGM
Studios in Florida celebrated the power of the Force! Fans of all ages and Star Wars characters of all
varieties united to celebrate the heroes, villains, droids and magic of
the saga. In addition to costumed characters, fun activities and the Star
Tours theme park ride, celebrity guests appeaed for meet-and-greet
sessions, star conversations, and classic Hollywood-style motorcades. This final weekend featured a trio of celebrity guests, including the surprise return of producer Rick McCallum. McCallum had such a great time on his first-ever Disney weekend that he had to come back for more. He joined actors Jeremy Bulloch -- who played Boba Fett in the original trilogy -- and Temuera Morrison -- who played Jango Fett in the prequel trilogy -- for the final installment of Star Wars Weekends 2006. |
